The Free State enables own basic training for plant fire brigades

The Interior Minister of the Free State of Saxony, Prof. Roland Woeller, signed an agreement end of May with only two partners to strengthen the training and further skill enhancement of the Saxon plant fire brigades. One of the partners is Securitas Fire Control + Service GmbH.

In the future, this contract will enable Securitas to support the basic training courses for fire brigades at the location of the respective plant fire brigade and the further expansion of the fire service in Saxony. "The Saxon plant fire brigades form a central pillar of operational hazard prevention and firefighting and can also be deployed to support municipal voluntary fire brigades where necessary", said the Minister.

The agreement provides for the course to be offered up to twice a year with up to 24 participants in each course. The course content is based on the specifications of the Saxony State Fire Brigade and Disaster Control School (LFS, Landesfeuerwehr- und Katastrophenschutzschule Sachsen) in order to ensure the high quality of a competence-oriented training. "We are urgently looking for qualified personnel and therefore we continue to constantly invest into this training and qualification", said Axel Leyendecker, who heads the Securitas segment Fire + Safety in Germany.
