This year’s sporting event at the future Berlin Brandenburg Airport is called “Securitas Airport Night Run”. The security service provider, with almost 6000 employees in the region, is the title sponsor of the event. This time, the starting signal will be given on April 8th at the future airport of the German capital.
This year, the participants will meet for the eleventh time at BER to master one of the following five disciplines in the evening glow and under floodlights: the half-marathon, the 10-kilometre run, 10-kilometre power walking, the 4x4-kilometre relay race and 15-kilometre skating. "For many years now, we have been ensuring aviation security at the Berlin airports, while also "showing our colors" as an employer. Therefore, we invite all Securitas employees to take part in one of the races. Good results are generally based on good training – that is why, in advance, we will organize two running-coaching dates for our runners with the Olympic champions Jan Vandrey and Katrin Wagner-Augustin," says Dirk Fischlein M.A., Securitas Managing Director of the Aviation segment in Germany. Securitas is in close contact with the successful canoeists, and for several years now, the security company has been providing support to the Potsdam canoe club. The medal winners now offer expert training lessons to the Securitas runners to prepare them for the Securitas Airport Night Run.
"We need employees who are in good physical shape, enjoy doing sports and stay wide awake – despite all efforts. Health management is an important topic within the context of our business – for our operational staff as well as for those working at the desks," says Frank Salewsky, Managing Director of Securitas Sicherheitsdienste Berlin/Brandenburg.
Securitas is one of the large employers in the Berlin-Brandenburg region and market leader in the private security industry in Germany. The company invites all employees to take part in the Securitas Airport Night Run 2017. Last year, almost 7000 sportsmen and sportswomen tested the asphalt of the runway at BER.
