Securitas Germany confirmed as market leader

Berlin/Frankfurt. The security industry in Germany is a growth market. Securitas Germany has established itself as a market leader in this sector, with sales of 657 million euros and approximately 19,000 employees. This has been revealed by the latest Lünendonk study “Führende Sicherheitsdienstleister in Deutschland” (leading security service providers in Germany), the results of which were presented on Wednesday. The study will be published on 17th November.

"We are leading the top-ten list in the German security industry because we are able to provide complex security solutions to our customers that go far beyond pure guarding," says Manfred Buhl, CEO Securitas Germany and one of the Vice Presidents of the Federal Association of German Security Companies (BDSW, Bundesverband der Sicherheitswirtschaft). "Securitas' main focus is not on sales growth, but on the expansion of the business in terms of technology and quality," says Buhl.

"The security requirements of private and public clients are growing; today, they expect from a leading service provider to offer integrated solutions combining personnel and technical services in an efficient way," adds Jens Müller, COO Securitas Germany. This requires investments in know-how, in technical equipment, as well as in basic and advanced training. According to the two Securitas managers, the latest Lünendonk study shows the increasing competitive pressure in the sector.

"This trend is expected to continue in the coming years," says Buhl. According to Buhl, tendering procedures, where the price is the sole criterion for awarding contracts, ignore some important success factors, which should be demanded from security service providers. "We will continue on our track: Securitas considers itself to be a high-quality service provider using modern technology and well-trained staff to design and implement security solutions."
